Youtube Problem?

Many people have been recently (Today) been complaining that youtube is not working properly. ReviewITshow have currently not experienced this problem however it is reported that on the homepage of youtube, users see ‘”Http/1.1 Service Unavailable”.

There are claims that some viewers cannot see embedded videos on third party sites.

ReviewITshow will let you know if any more problems arise and any other info.

Microsoft-Browser Choice.

Today, Microsoft has given the oppurtunity for its European users to use its own IE Broswer or other browsers such as FireFox or safari.

MS IE Browsers accounts for 62% of the browsers used in Europe. It closes competitor is Mozilla Firefox at 24%

Youtube’s NEW layout.

Youtube has changed its layout. Youtube, have decided to go to a simple, straight forward look.

New features:
Like & Dislike button
See all videos by user at top of the Page.
New button-Save To
Description Box Underneath video.
Arrow to expand boxes.
Related videos task pane where previous descriptipon box was.

It will take time for people to get used to and may recieved mix reviews. The new layout was first became live around 22:00 GMT (UK Time).

SEESAW Internet TV Launches!

A new internet tv service which allows users to watch/catch-up on tv shows that they have missed online for free has fully launched In the UK. It comes after months of beta testing and has been compared to online music streaming site spotify.

John Keeling, Seesaw platform controller said “I can see the comparison but Spotify is more of a free and subscription hybrid – we’re looking at free and transactional pay-per-view hybrid.”
He also added that within the coming months the site would roll out a premium service which would effectively add an extra 2000 hours programmes.

The only problem i can see here is that the major channels in the UK have their own programmes on-demand websites. Examples of which are the BBC Iplayer, which probably is the on demand player that attracts most of the british viewers. We then have demanfive by channel five, Itv Player and 4OD which has recently linked up with youtube, to provide shows on its youtube channels.

As ReviewITshow viewed the site, we were amazed as to how much programmes are on seesaw. On the homepage we saw waterloo road series 1 episode 1, which was first broadcast in 2006. As we tried to find the same series and episode on the BBC Iplayer, the search came up with “No results found”.

I believe that SeeSaw has great potential in becoming the best free on-demand video service in the UK. If they can have programmes that have aired years back and they were top-quality shows. I have no doubt that Seesaw will attract lots of Viewers.
